The Challenge
The existing platform suffered from severe performance degradation during peak tourist season, causing lost sales due to slow loading states. Additionally, the booking matrix required a complex scheduling system capable of processing dynamic daily pricing tiers, weather cancellations, captain availability, and real-time boat tracking.
The Approach & Execution
Designed and engineered a highly modular headless commerce platform. Utilized Next.js for a lightning-fast frontend layer, Payload CMS for intuitive inventory and boat scheduling management, and Supabase as the high-availability relational database. Stripe was deeply integrated to handle secure holding deposits and multi-currency checkout sequences.
The Final Outcome
Deployed a fluid, single-page application that completely eliminated checkout friction. Pages load instantaneously across global networks, and the booking engine completely avoids calendar overlap or double-bookings through strict transaction isolation rules.
